As the co-founder and CEO of DeepMind (acquired by Google), he led the team that created AlphaGo, the first program to defeat a world champion at the complex game of Go. With a background spanning computer science, neuroscience, and game design, Hassabis is widely regarded as a leading figure in artificial intelligence research.
